UK Border Agency Asylum seekers and Refugees

HHUK is under contract to the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) to provide supported accommodation to Asylum Seekers dispersed by the Home Office to the North West of England.

This area of work began on 16th March 2006 when Happy Homes UK Ltd signed a contract with the Home Office for the provision of accommodation and support services to people seeking asylum in the UK. Under the contract, we are required to provide accommodation with allied support throughout the Northwest. We work closely with the UK Border Agency, local authorities and the voluntary sector to ensure excellence and continuous improvement within in our provision.

Our service has extended over the last three years to providing supported housing to a broad range of client groups. The client groups include those in general housing need as well as vulnerable groups. We provide direct housing to refugees who have been forced to flee persecution or war in their home countries and who now have the legal right to settle and live in the UK.

As well as providing supported accommodation to single adults and families seeking asylum, HHUK also assists local authorities in the provision of accommodation services to Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASCs) This is a particularly vulnerable group who may have been victims of exploitation, vice and human trafficking.
